Hello!
How are all of you this week? I hope well! Wow things are doing
much better over here in Florida!
My new companion is Sister Kreiberg from Denmark and she is
awesome. She is a professional dancer and she speaks 5 languages!
WOW! Danish, English, Norwegian, Swedish, and German. It is so funny to be
with her because she does
not get the way Americans talk with all the slang and Idioms.
The other night I was asking her about her dancing career and I asked if she
could show me
some of her dance moves and she said only if you show me yours!
Then I said haha I don't think so, I have two left feet and cannot dance, haha
then Sister Kreiberg froze with the most awful look on her face and came over
to me to look at my feet while she asked me, do you really? I started to laugh
so hard when I explained to her that, when Americans say they have 2 left feet
it means they are clumsy. Haha its been so much fun, so now for the past week I
have been trying to think of American slang to teach her.
Things are going great here in Viera though, Sister Kreiberg and
I have been out biking and tracting all week, and we are very very sore!
We were able to get a new investigator this week though and that was exactly
what we needed. We met a young girl named Emily and she is 17 years old.
When we knocked on her door and introduced ourselves she told us that her best
friend was Mormon, when we asked who the friend was she said Tori Clark, and we
told her that she was in our ward! It was way cool! We asked if we could share
a message with her and she said that she would like that! She also said that
Tori has tried many times to pray with her or read the scriptures, but that she
just wasn't really interested, but that she thought it was cool that we were
there so she invited us to give her a message. We taught her the message
of the restoration and it went great. The spirit was so strong and
Emily had mentioned that Tori had shared many of these things with her
before. At the end of the lesson we invited her to church and
she said she would love to come and that she would call Tori and ask for a
ride. She then asked us if we had a Book of Mormon that we could give her, and
of course we did. All I can say is that I am so grateful for Tori! It
is amazing what influence we as members have on our
friends. Emily wouldn’t have given us the time of day if she hadn't
been prepared before hand to receive the message that we had for her. On Sunday
Emily also came to church with Tori and had a wonderful time. She loved being
in the Young Womens and is excited to continue to come back to church with
Tori. We are very excited too! Guess what!!!!! So Anthony and Jeff from my
last area have been coming to church every Sunday, and what is even greater is
that my last Sunday in Pleasant Hills Jeff's wife Jessy came to church as well,
which was a miracle in itself because she was sooo against it! and now just the
other day they texted Sister Baker and told her that they liked coming to
church and that they were thinking about all getting baptized. HOLY COW!!!!! It
is a miracle, I never thought I'd see the day that Jessy walked into a church
and she did and I never thought I would see they day that Jeff said he wants to
be baptized and look at them now! It is so great to see the changes in people
lives as they live the gospel and come closer to their Savior. I know
that they truly have been prepared to receive this gospel and that Heavenly
Father is very aware of His children. I am so grateful to be apart of
this great work! I love you all!
Sister
Jamison!
